The central narrative of Chouseishin Gransazer is a grand, cosmic conflict that would feel right at home in any modern sci-fi epic. The story begins around , when an advanced human civilization was destroyed by an alliance of alien conquerors known as the Warp Monarch. In the present day, the direct descendants of that civilization's warriors—called "Sazers" —begin to awaken their latent powers. These 12 heroes are divided into four elemental tribes : Flame, Wind, Earth, and Water. Each tribe can summon a colossal mechanoid known as a "Chouseishin" (Star God) when its three members unite their powers.
