Extract the images directly into your SD/USB card at apps/snes9xgx/covers/ .

Your PNG files might be high-definition (like 1080p or 4K images). The Wii's limited hardware will crash trying to cache them. Downscale all images to under 400 pixels in width. snes9xgx cover art

By default, the emulator looks for artwork on your SD card or USB drive within the main application folder. Your directory structure must look like this: apps/snes9xgx/covers/ (For standard front box art)

Find the option and toggle it between Covers , Screenshots , or Artwork depending on which folder you populated. Keep capitalization identical to the ROM file

Once the files are in place, you need to tell the emulator to show them: Launch on your Wii. Go to Settings > Menu . Look for the Preview Image option. Change the setting to Covers .
